Hello, I'm Wesley. My journey began in the rainy landscapes of the Netherlands, a place defined by rigid structures and deep bureaucracy. Finding myself fundamentally out of place in such a controlled environment, I turned to the rapidly evolving digital world to find a sense of autonomy. My childhood bedroom quickly became a makeshift hacker hideout filled with flickering monitors, server racks, and cables. I spent my youth exploring early tech forums, building custom hardware setups, and writing scripts to automate the mundane tasks of my early IT internships.

Driven by a fascination with Asian culture, I eventually left Europe to start over in Taiwan with little more than a vision of self-reliance. Overcoming initial language barriers, I transitioned into education and eventually launched a successful, home-based language center that integrated STEAM concepts. Alongside this venture, my passion for technology matured. I built a proper enterprise-grade homelab rack with terabytes of storage, even engineering an early private media streaming framework long before major streaming platforms dominated the market.

However, the pressures of running businesses, navigating a challenging marriage that ultimately ended in divorce, and carrying unresolved weights from my past took a heavy toll. For years, I relied on a habit of self-medication with the bottle to cope with a lingering emptiness. True growth required a complete internal restructuring, which I found through deep studies in philosophy. The practical resilience of the Stoics, the principles of Daoism, and a later dive into macroeconomics and digital sovereignty gave me the mental toolset to trade old coping mechanisms for genuine self-mastery.

An accidental visa oversight during the pandemic eventually closed my long chapter in Taiwan, bringing me to a quieter, more intentional life in a coastal town in Vietnam. Today, I divide my time between running an online English tutoring business, working on personal writing projects, and managing my financial portfolios. It is a balanced, solitary routine that allows me to enjoy classical literature and a slower pace of existence. Having cultivated my own version of an Epicurean Garden through years of trial and error, my goal now is simply to keep exploring these passions and living a life entirely on my own terms.
