No Exit is a play that explores existentialist themes of self-awareness, freedom, and the human desire for validation. Sartre presents three characters trapped together in a room, forced to confront the consequences of their past choices and the gaze of others. The famous line, “Hell is other people,” captures the torture of being defined and judged by others.
What I found most revealing was the focus on personal responsibility and the inevitability of self-deception. It challenges us to face ourselves honestly and understand how our freedom is intertwined with the relationships we cannot escape.
